Electrics are one of the first most important steps in building or renovating a home - therefore we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you consider a full rewire before planning any renovations works, especially if its an older property.
For any renovation works at the very least we would recommend carrying out an electrical installation condition report (EICR) prior to starting any works, this will raise any issues (if any) before finding out further down the line on your project.

It’s not uncommon for a home to still be fitted with an outdated, old, and in some cases potentially dangerous fuse board.
We’re fully qualified to carry out the required works to make sure your fuse board is appropriately upgraded – providing your family with protection against potentially fatal incidents.

• A new 18th edition consumer unit with RCBO & SPD protection
• Full upgrade of earth bonding to gas and water supplies – for added safety

We’ve all experienced a lights out at home – most of the time a simple flick of a fuse switch is all that’s needed to get you back online. Such occurrences shouldn’t be overlooked; often a blown fuse or tripped circuit is the result of a deeper, underlying fault. For that reason, it’s important to consult a professional if you’re unsure of the cause. One of our NICEIC approved electricians will be happy to help locate and resolve what’s caused an electrical fault using a 6-point Fault Finding approach, which is:

1. Safety first – ensure all main power at the consumer unit is safe and can be accessed before any electrical work is carried out.
2. Gather information – we’ll ask you when and how the fault occurred, what was happening at the time?
3. Analyse information – fortunately, we’ve seen and dealt with such a broad variety of electrical faults that we can take this information and start to hone in on a potential cause.
4. Investigate – we’ll then continue to dig deeper until we find the fault or the cause.
5. Rectify – once the fault has been found, we can either supply an estimate to repair the issue or get the job done there & then.
6. Test - once we’re sure a fix is in place and the fault has been put right, we’ll make sure to test and confirm everything is back working correctly & safe.

IMPORTANT: For NEW tenancy agreements starting from July 2020, as a landlord it is your legal obligation to have an up to date Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) or Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR).

For CURRENTLY OCCUPIED agreements as a landlord you should now have an up to date EIC or EICR.

We’re fully qualified to carry out comprehensive, detailed inspections of your electrical installations and provide professional recommendations to ensure your property meets IEE Wiring Regulations. As you would expect from such a service, upon completion we’ll supply you with an EICR. Domestic properties are required by law to have an electrical test and inspection every 10 years – if you’re unsure if you’re overdue, let us know and we can help you find out.

For Landlords, you have a legal obligation to ensure you regularly inspect your electrical installations. Keeping up-to-date with your inspections can often be put to the back of your mind, that’s why we also offer a repeat service, with periodic inspections available at your convenience.
